Blue Mountain State (2010) Parents Guide: Is the series OK for kids?

Sexual content is pervasive and a central element of the show's humor and plotlines. This includes frequent sexual innuendo, crude jokes, and discussions about sex. There are scenes with partial nudity (buttocks, scantily clad women), implied sexual acts without explicit nudity, and frequent scenes of characters in bed together before or after sex. Strippers are often featured, and a "pocket pussy" item is a plot point in one episode.

Violence is generally mild and played for comedic effect, often football-related or slapstick. There are occasional fistfights and crude physical gags, such as characters getting injured in exaggerated ways, but graphic depiction of gore is avoided. One episode features a comedic sequence of a badger eating a goat, depicted with blood spray but no graphic detail.

Strong language is constant and pervasive. Words like 'f**k,' 'sh*t,' 'c**k,' 'p**sy,' 'a**hole,' and 'd**k' are used frequently and casually throughout every episode. One episode features the college name 'Buckingham' being repeatedly referred to as 'F**kingham'.

Mature themes include excessive partying, drug and alcohol abuse, irresponsible sexual behavior, a lack of respect for authority figures, and general debauchery. The show often satirizes college life through these themes, but it does so without much moral commentary, potentially normalizing such behaviors. Themes of rivalry, friendship, and personal identity are present but often overshadowed by the cruder elements.
