Season 1 is the series' most explicit by a significant margin. Sex scenes are frequent, long, and detailed — characters have sex in carriages, against walls, on beds, and outdoors. Violence and gore in Bridgerton

Violence is mild relative to the show's sexual content. A man punches another man violently until he is visibly wounded (bloody face). A duel occurs with pistols. Bare-knuckle boxing matches feature across the season. A graphic childbirth scene occurs later in the season. Nothing remotely gory.

Language in Bridgerton

Language pulls back noticeably from Season 1 — some reviewers note virtually no modern profanity in Season 2. Period exclamations and mild oaths appear but the f-word and 'b–tches' are rare or absent. This is the show's cleanest season on language.

Mature themes in Bridgerton

The show uses its Regency setting to explore the limited autonomy of women — daughters treated as assets to be married off, 'ruined' by association, or discarded.
