Absolute Duo (2015) Parents Guide: Is the series OK for kids?

Sexual content and fan service are frequent and moderate to strong throughout the season. This includes numerous scenes with revealing outfits, swimwear, and sexually suggestive poses, particularly from female characters. There are instances of accidental breast grabbing, glimpses of cleavage and underwear, and suggestive dialogue. One character, Lilith, is explicitly depicted in a highly suggestive pose often revealing her panties and under-boobs.

Violence is moderate and prevalent, focusing on combat between students and antagonists using magical weapons. While often bloodless, the fighting is intense and involves energy blasts, sword fighting, and hand-to-hand combat. Characters are frequently knocked unconscious or injured, and some villains are implied to be killed. A major plot point revolves around the protagonist seeking revenge for his sister's murder, and there are large-scale attacks on the academy.

Language is generally mild. Occasional uses of words like "hell," "damn," and "bitch" are present, primarily during moments of combat or frustration. Profanity is infrequent and not particularly strong.

Substance use is minimal. One scene features a character becoming slightly wobbly after consuming rum pudding, which is depicted for comedic effect. There is no other notable drug, alcohol, or tobacco use.

Mature themes include grief, as Tooru is motivated by the tragic death of his younger sister and seeks revenge. The theme of identity is explored through Tooru being an "Irregular" with a shield, challenging traditional weapon roles. Discussions about the nature of power, protection, and the trauma of past events are recurring.
