Sex and nudity in Dark Matter

E02 ('Trip of a Lifetime') establishes the alternate Jason's relationship with Amanda — brief adult content implies their intimacy in the alternate reality. E05 ('Worldless') has the most emotionally charged scene between Jason and Amanda as they navigate their isolation in the box. Nothing explicit, but clearly adult in its emotional register. E08 ('Jupiter') is the episode where the sexual content rating earns its 1 — a brief but clear adult scene.

Violence and gore in Dark Matter

The violence is largely thriller-register rather than graphic. E06 begins the series' most intense stretch as Jason realizes other versions of himself are pursuing the same goal and are willing to use violence to achieve it. E07 and E08 escalate this — the confrontations between multiple Jasons in the later episodes involve real physical danger. E09's finale resolves this tension without excessive graphic content but with genuine consequence.

Language in Dark Matter

Moderate throughout — the show's thriller register generates occasional strong language in crisis moments. E06 ('Superposition') and E07 ('In the Fires of Dead Stars') escalate in intensity and language as Jason encounters other versions of himself and the situation becomes genuinely dangerous.

Mature themes in Dark Matter

The show's central philosophical question — if every choice you didn't make exists somewhere, which version of your life is the real one? — is posed and answered with surprising warmth. Jason's answer is: this one, because of these specific people. E08 and E09 are the most emotionally demanding episodes as Jason confronts the full weight of what he might lose and what other versions of himself have become in pursuit of the same goal. The show raises questions about identity, consciousness, and whether the self is…
