Violence is mild and mostly non-graphic. It primarily consists of comedic sci-fi battles involving spaceships and energy weapons, resulting in explosions and property damage but no visible gore or serious injuries to characters. Profanity is generally light to absent, with occasional mild exclamations or frustrations. Stronger language is not a significant feature of the dialogue.

Mild substance use occurs. In one instance, Eris consumes catnip and exhibits hyperactive, drunken-like behavior. There is a background presence of alcohol during some social gatherings, though it is not a central focus and intoxication is rare.

Themes include cultural differences and misunderstandings between humans and aliens, as well as the challenges of coexisting with foreign entities. There are also underlying themes of identity and belonging for the displaced alien characters, and the pressures of protecting a secret.
