Jupiter's Legacy (2021) Parents Guide: Is the series OK for kids?

Sexual content is moderate. There are scenes of implied sex with partial nudity (backsides, bare chests), and characters are seen in various stages of undress, including in underwear. Sexual innuendo and suggestive dialogue are also present, particularly involving Chloe's lifestyle and relationships.

Violence is strong and graphic. Superhero battles feature brutal punches, throws, and impacts resulting in visible blood, broken bones, and severe injuries. Graphic depictions include dismemberment (a character getting their arm ripped off, a decapitated head), impalement, stabbings, and severe burns. Human characters are often killed or graphically injured by superpowered beings. Flashback sequences include perilous journeys with falls and near-death experiences.

Strong language is pervasive, including frequent uses of 'f**k' and its derivatives, 'sh*t,' 'a**hole,' 'b*tch,' and 'd*ck.' Profanity is present in nearly every episode, both in moments of stress and in casual conversation, by multiple characters.

Alcohol use is frequent, with characters regularly drinking socially and to excess. Chloe struggles with substance abuse, depicted through binge drinking, drug use (pills, implied cocaine), and hangovers, including a storyline focused on her addiction. Tobacco smoking is occasionally seen in flashback scenes.

Mature themes include mental illness, particularly Sheldon's visions and growing obsession that lead him to abandon his family and career. Intergenerational conflict is central, exploring the pressure and legacy faced by superhero children. Grief, abandonment, and moral dilemmas surrounding the use of power and the sanctity of life (the 'Code') are also significant themes. Child endangerment is present during attacks where children are shown in danger, though not explicitly harmed.
