SNL Korea (2021) Parents Guide: Is the series OK for kids?

Sexual innuendo is pervasive, appearing in almost every episode. This includes suggestive dialogue, double entendres, characters making flirtatious or explicit gestures, and sketches built around sexual situations (e.g., dating apps, romantic encounters, or suggestive role-playing). There are occasional revealing outfits but no nudity. Sexual jokes range from mild to quite explicit for comedic effect.

Violence is generally depicted in a comedic, slapstick, or non-graphic manner. Characters may engage in exaggerated physical altercations, comedic pratfalls, or light scuffles. Implied violence, such as threats or comedic depictions of injuries, occurs but without any graphic detail or lasting consequences. An 'AI Gangster' sketch features implied threats and intimidation.

Frequent use of strong profanity, including Korean equivalents of 'f***,' 's***,' and 'a******.' Expletives are often used for emphasis in comedic situations or in characters' reactions to absurd scenarios. Crude and suggestive language is also common, particularly in sketches involving sexual innuendo or bodily functions.

Occasional scenes feature characters drinking alcohol, sometimes to excess for comedic effect. This includes a sketch where a character becomes visibly drunk. Drug use is rarely depicted, but references to substances can occur within comedic contexts, such as a 'health trainer' segment with double entendres that could imply stimulant use.

The season frequently explores mature themes through satire, including political corruption, social inequality, workplace harassment, and relationship struggles. Sketches often comment on societal pressures, gender roles, and celebrity culture, sometimes in a critical or cynical light. Death and grief are occasionally referenced in a comedic or exaggerated manner, such as a character dramatically mourning a minor loss.
