Sex and nudity in Endless Love

The film contains moderate sexual content. In one key scene, the two main characters make love; the scene is implied, showing them kissing passionately as he removes his shirt and she removes her nightgown, revealing her bare back and the side of her breast. Other scenes include passionate kissing, characters in bikinis and swim trunks, a brief glimpse of panties when a skirt flips up, and a crude comment about a woman spreading her legs.

Violence and gore in Endless Love

Violence is infrequent and not graphic, but there are some moments of moderate intensity. In one scene, a character punches a man in the face. A father threatens his daughter's boyfriend with a bat but is stopped. Later, the same man shoves the teen, accidentally starting a house fire. There is also a car crash that results in injury, and a scene where a character is in peril from smoke inhalation during the fire.

Language in Endless Love

Language is moderate, earning part of the PG-13 rating. There is at least one use of the f-word. Other language includes several uses of "shit," milder terms like "hell," and religious exclamations. A character also makes a crude sexual remark to another man about getting a woman to "spread her legs."

Drugs, alcohol, and smoking in Endless Love

Substance use is present but not a central focus. There are several scenes of teen partying where underage characters are shown drinking beer and other alcoholic beverages. Adults are also seen drinking wine and champagne. In one scene, a character makes a verbal reference to getting "high," implying marijuana use.

Mature themes in Endless Love

The film explores mature themes of obsessive first love, parental control, and family dysfunction. Jade's father, Hugh, is controlling and deceptive, going to extreme lengths to separate the couple, and is also revealed to be unfaithful to his wife. The teens engage in reckless behavior, including breaking into a zoo. Themes of grief over a deceased family member and eventual forgiveness are also present.
