Sexual content is minimal but present. One scene depicts a man and a woman having sex, viewed through a camera, with thrusting and moaning but no nudity. There are also brief mentions of sperm and eggs in a scientific context. The content is not explicit or central to the plot.

The season contains severe and graphic violence. This includes aliens draining human blood via neck bites, a man's jaw being graphically crushed by an alien, a scene of a bisected cat with an alien emerging from its eye socket, a man torn in half crawling with heavy blood and guts shown, and graphic medical operation scenes displaying open wounds, organs, and parasites. Human characters are often eaten alive or killed brutally by the aliens. The violence is pervasive and highly explicit.

Frequent use of strong profanity, including 'fuck' and 'shit,' is present throughout the season, reflecting extreme stress and terror. Lesser profanity is also used regularly by various characters.

Central themes include body horror, survival against an unknowable and terrifying threat, corporate greed leading to catastrophic consequences, human experimentation, and the psychological toll of extreme fear and violence. Betrayal and the breakdown of human trust under pressure also feature prominently.
