Aban (2025) Parents Guide: Is the series OK for kids?

Sexual content is limited to implied intimate relationships and suggestive dialogue. There are no explicit sex scenes or nudity. One character is coerced into a transactional relationship, and the sexual nature of this arrangement is implied rather than shown explicitly.

Physical violence is mostly off-screen or implied. Characters are threatened, and there are references to characters being taken or detained, creating a sense of peril. One character is imprisoned. A kidnapping occurs off-screen, leading to emotional distress. The primary 'violence' is psychological, involving threats and manipulation.

Strong language, including multiple uses of 'f***' and 'sh**,' is present throughout the season, particularly during moments of high tension, anger, or frustration. Other profanities are also used regularly by various characters.

Alcohol use is occasionally depicted in social settings, such as at parties and during business meetings, but it is not central to the plot nor is intoxication frequently shown. Characters are seen casually drinking wine or other alcoholic beverages.

The season explores intense mature themes including coercion, financial ruin, betrayal, kidnapping, emotional manipulation, and power imbalances. Characters face profound moral dilemmas, and the destruction of a family unit is a central theme, with a child being used as leverage. The psychological toll of these events is significant, leading to despair and difficult choices.
