Sex and nudity in Hackers

Sexuality is moderate but brief. There are a few scenes of teens kissing passionately. In one prank, an explicit personal ad is fabricated and read aloud. In a high school locker room prank, a boy's bare backside is briefly seen. The most notable moment is a surreal dream sequence which includes a very brief, dimly-lit shot of female toplessness. There are also a few instances of women wearing slightly sheer shirts.

Violence and gore in Hackers

Violence is infrequent and highly stylized, with no gore. The film opens with armed SWAT agents raiding the home of an 11-year-old child. Later, Secret Service agents with guns drawn arrest teen characters in tense scenes. The main characters are pursued by authorities in a climactic chase on rollerblades through New York City traffic. One character is briefly and non-graphically struck by his mother after being arrested.

Language in Hackers

Profanity is moderate, but earns its PG-13 rating with a single use of "f--k". Other language includes uses of "shit," "asshole," "damn," and "hell."

Drugs, alcohol, and smoking in Hackers

The main teenage characters are frequently shown drinking beer and smoking cigarettes in their nightclub hangout. The adult villain is often seen smoking cigars. There are also references to hard drugs in dialogue.

Mature themes in Hackers

The film's central themes involve cybercrime, rebellion against corporate and government authority, and the ethics of hacking. Characters are falsely accused of crimes, subjected to intimidation and blackmail by the villain, and face arrest. The plot also revolves around the threat of a large-scale, man-made environmental disaster (the capsizing of an oil tanker fleet).
