Peacemaker (2022) Parents Guide: Is the series OK for kids?

Sexual content is severe and often graphic. Episode 1 features an explicit orgy sequence with full frontal male nudity, female topless nudity, and implied sexual acts. Subsequent episodes include sexual dialogue, crude innuendo, and references to various sexual acts, sometimes accompanied by brief nudity or simulated sexual situations without explicit depiction of genitalia.

Violence is graphic, frequent, and often bloody. Characters are shot, stabbed, impaled, and dismembered with significant gore. A sonic boom causes a character to explode, spraying blood and viscera. A man's face is caved in by a shotgun blast. A gorilla is chainsawed open. Flashbacks depict a child's accidental death by head injury. Torture scenes, though brief, involve close-ups of injuries like a pinky toe being snapped off.

Pervasive strong language is a hallmark of this season. The 'f-word' and its variations are used frequently, often multiple times per minute in some scenes. Other strong profanity like 'shit,' 'cunt,' 'asshole,' and 'bitch' are also common. Homophobic slurs like 'fag' are used, particularly by Peacemaker's father, Auggie Smith.

Themes include severe trauma, particularly related to childhood abuse and PTSD, moral compromise, and identity crises. Characters struggle with their past actions and the implications of their choices.
