Seth MacFarlane's Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy (2008) Parents Guide: Is the series OK for kids?

Pervasive and often graphic sexual content, though largely implied or depicted in a crude, stylized cartoon manner. Sketches frequently feature sexual innuendo, explicit dialogue, and depictions of various sexual acts, including bestiality, necrophilia, and masturbation, often for shock humor. Partial nudity and simulations of sex are present, sometimes involving non-human or inanimate objects, with associated sound effects.

Stylized cartoon violence is frequent and varies in intensity. While generally exaggerated and comedic, some sketches depict graphic outcomes, such as a character being splattered with blood or consumed. Firearms are shown, and there's a sketch where a classic cartoon character is brutally killed. Animated violence against a naked woman by a robot is also depicted. Due to the highly stylized, non-human, and exaggerated nature of this animated violence, a severity discount is applied.

Very strong and frequent profanity is used throughout almost every sketch, including multiple uses of the f-word, s-word, and various crude anatomical terms. Blasphemous language and sexual exclamations are common. Jokes often hinge on offensive or taboo language.

Substance use is present, primarily involving characters drinking alcohol in bar settings. There are several direct references to marijuana use, particularly in one sketch where a unicorn promotes it. One episode depicts a character being fed chocolate, which is toxic to dogs, for a dark comedic outcome.

Mature and offensive themes are central to the show's humor, including death, divorce, prejudice (racist and homophobic remarks), animal abuse, addiction, and religious irreverence. Many sketches derive their impact from tackling sensitive subjects in a deliberately provocative manner, often playing on taboos and stereotypes. Eating disorders and AIDS are also mentioned or depicted in comedic contexts.
