Simulated violence, especially in 'The Greater Good' episode, where test subjects must make decisions regarding a simulated train running over people. The consequences are implied rather than graphically shown, but the ethical dilemmas are intense. Other episodes feature discussions of police interrogation tactics which can involve psychological coercion.

Mild profanity such as "shit" and "hell" occurs occasionally, typically from test subjects reacting to surprising or stressful situations. Language is generally professional and academic but includes naturalistic reactions under duress.

The episode 'The Psychedelic Experience' features Michael Stevens traveling to the Amazon and consuming Ayahuasca, a psychedelic brew, with on-screen depiction of its effects including altered perception and vomiting. Other episodes include mentions of drugs being used in interrogation contexts or casually in conversation.

This season delves into mature themes such as morality, mortality (Episode 5 specifically addresses death and cryonics), cognitive biases, human behavior under duress (Stanford Prison Experiment), and philosophical questions about contact with alien life. Some concepts may be intense for younger viewers due to their psychological complexity rather than graphic imagery.
