Sex and nudity in Shadows House

Sexual content is absent. There is no nudity, sexual situations, or overt suggestive dialogue. A very brief scene of characters bathing uses bubbles to obscure any figures. One instance involves a girl leaning close to a boy, causing him to blush, but there is no implied sexual act.

Violence and gore in Shadows House

Violence is primarily non-graphic and involves characters being attacked by soot creatures, restrained, or falling from heights. Physical altercations occur, such as Maryrose physically overpowering others with her soot abilities, but visible injuries are minimal or absent. There is a strong sense of peril and characters being in danger, including being threatened with being "disposed of" or having their minds altered.
