Sex and nudity in Family Business

This season significantly ups the ante on explicit sexual content. There are scenes depicting a swingers party with brief, out-of-focus female nudity (breasts) and more prominent male nudity (rear and genitalia). A graphic scene involves a close-up of an artificial, very large penis. Simulated sex scenes with full nudity are shown, and a woman displays her full breasts during a video call in the first episode. Sexual innuendo and suggestive dialogue are also common.

Violence and gore in Family Business

Violence in this season is infrequent but extremely graphic and disturbing when it occurs. A character is shot in the head, with the bullet exiting and striking another character, depicted with a lot of blood. Another highly graphic scene involves a character exploring a bullet wound in another person's body to retrieve an earring, followed by them sucking the wound and spitting out blood onto another character. This is portrayed in a way that is both unsettling and darkly comedic.

Language in Family Business

Frequent strong language is used throughout the season, including F-bombs, S-words, and other profanities spoken in French. Characters often use expletives in casual conversation, during arguments, and in moments of stress. The language contributes to the show's adult tone and reflects the high-stakes, sometimes chaotic situations the family faces.

Drugs, alcohol, and smoking in Family Business

The entire premise of the series revolves around the cultivation and sale of marijuana. Characters frequently handle, smoke, and discuss cannabis. Joseph and his family actively engage in the production and distribution of the drug. There are scenes of characters in various states of intoxication, particularly Joseph in Amsterdam and the family testing their product. Alcohol consumption, including wine with meals and characters getting drunk at parties, is also common.

Mature themes in Family Business

The season explores themes of captivity, coercion, loyalty challenges, and family secrets amidst the high-stakes illegal drug trade. The family grapples with intense pressure and ethical dilemmas as they are forced to significantly expand their illicit operation under threat. There are also underlying themes of identity and self-discovery, particularly for Aure and Jo, as they navigate their unusual circumstances.
