Sex and nudity in The Physician

Moderate. Several brief sex scenes are implied or off-screen (moaning/bed implied sex) and there are sequences in a pleasure bath where women's breasts are exposed; an extramarital sexual encounter between Rob and Rebecca is implied. A self-circumcision moment is shown indirectly (knife near genitals, a few drops of blood). IMDb Parents Guide documents these moments as non-explicit nudity and implied sex.

Violence and gore in The Physician

Strong and sometimes graphic. The film includes a graphic autopsy that shows opened chest and internal organs, surgical operations with visible blood and stitching, amputations and battlefield/massacre scenes with on-screen blood. There are also beatings for alleged witchcraft, a brief view of a decapitated head and stabbing-related blood; these scenes are occasionally explicit and upsetting.

Language in The Physician

Brief and very limited. There are only a few instances of mild, medieval-style expletives or shouted curses in tense scenes — not pervasive profanity (IMDb lists little to no strong language).

Drugs, alcohol, and smoking in The Physician

Mild. Alcohol is present across social scenes and some characters appear drunk; opium is used in a medical context (analgesic) and shown briefly. These uses are contextual, not glamorized.

Mature themes in The Physician

Strong mature themes. The movie deals directly with death and plague (large-scale illness and corpses), religious persecution of healers, an attempted/actual execution by stoning for adultery, and the destruction of a library and teachers (Ibn Sina's fate). These are sustained, emotionally heavy elements throughout the second half of the film.
