Violence and gore in Superman
Violence is frequent and intense, featuring brawls with metahumans, heavy blows, and the use of bladed weapons. Scenes include bone-breaking, limb dislocations, and characters being sprayed with acid, causing visible distress. The Justice Gang engages in a visceral internal attack on a large monster, and Lex Luthor employs cruel, direct threats of harm against civilians.
Language in Superman
Language is moderate, consisting of about 10 uses of 'shit' (including one in Spanish), two uses of 'bitch', and one use of 'asshole'. Other occasional expletives such as 'hell', 'damn', 'piss', and 'crap' appear throughout.

Mature themes in Superman
The film explores mature themes of isolation, xenophobia, and the trauma of being forced to confront one's heritage. Luthor's manipulation of Superman involves kidnapping, emotional blackmail, and the death of an innocent ally. The concept of an 'evil' Kryptonian mandate to conquer Earth is a major, demoralizing plot point.
