Once Upon a Crime is officially rated PG. Bontent's independent parent guide recommends it for ages 10+.

Its PG rating is misleadingly light, as the film contains moderate violence that may be too intense for young children, including a bloody bludgeoning and a scene where a character…

Contains very mild innuendo. In one scene, a female character suggestively adjusts her breasts under her dress and makes a comment about her body to another character. This is played for comedy but is slightly suggestive.

None. The dialogue is free of profanity, though some minor name-calling is present.

Mild. Characters are briefly shown drinking from goblets, presumably wine, in a social setting during the royal ball.

The central plot is a murder mystery, involving themes of murder, secrets, and deception. Characters lie, betray each other, and a main character is falsely accused of a crime. The consequences of these actions are a core part of the story.

Once Upon a Crime runs 105 minutes, directed by Yuichi Fukuda, released in 2023.
