Sex and nudity in Jupiter Ascending

Suggestive content is mild and infrequent. In one scene, a female character is seen briefly from behind as she exits a bath, showing partial buttock nudity. The lead male character is shirtless in several scenes. A villainous character makes unwanted advances on the protagonist and there are a few brief, romantic kisses. Humans are also seen floating nude in pods in a non-sexual context, with sensitive areas obscured.

Violence and gore in Jupiter Ascending

Violence is moderate and pervasive throughout, mostly consisting of stylized sci-fi action. An early scene depicts a man being shot and killed during a robbery, with some blood visible on his chest. There are numerous large-scale space battles with ships firing lasers and causing massive destruction, as well as several hand-to-hand combat sequences and fights with alien creatures. Most of the action is fast-paced and avoids graphic gore, though characters are frequently in peril and some aliens are killed.

Language in Jupiter Ascending

Language is present but not frequent. There is one use of "fuck" and a few instances of milder profanity, including "shit" and "piss."

Drugs, alcohol, and smoking in Jupiter Ascending

There is some mild social drinking. Characters are briefly seen with alcoholic beverages during conversations, but there is no depiction of drunkenness or substance abuse.

Mature themes in Jupiter Ascending

The central thematic element is the concept of "harvesting" entire planets of human beings to create a life-extending serum for a galactic elite, which may be disturbing. Other themes include the death of a parent, kidnapping of a family, betrayal, and discussions about the value of life and class struggle. A main villain falls to his death at the film's climax.
