Sex and nudity in If Only

A scene of implied sex between the main couple is central to the film. While they are together, they kiss passionately, the woman's shirt and bra are removed (side/back nudity is briefly shown), and they lie down under sheets. There is no explicit nudity or depiction of the sexual act itself. The scene focuses more on emotional connection than physical detail.

Violence and gore in If Only

Two significant scenes of violence occur. Early in the film, a taxi is T-boned by another vehicle; a main character inside is shown with some blood on her face before dying from her injuries. This entire sequence is repeated near the end of the film with a different outcome for the couple inside. The crashes are sudden and emotionally jarring but are not graphically gory.

Language in If Only

Language is moderate and includes one use of the f-word. Other profanity is present but scattered, including uses of "sh*t," "bloody," "arse," "piss-off," and "bollocks."

Drugs, alcohol, and smoking in If Only

The film contains very light substance use. Characters have alcoholic drinks in a pub during one scene. In this same scene, a character's deceased father is mentioned to have become an alcoholic after losing his job, which is discussed as a past tragedy.

Mature themes in If Only

The film is built on strong, mature themes of death and grief. The central plot involves a character's premonition of his girlfriend's imminent death and his desperate attempts to change fate. It deals explicitly with the pain of losing a loved one, regret over past actions, and the idea of sacrifice. There is also a brief thematic mention of a parent's past alcoholism.
