A developing romance includes kissing and cuddling.

Violence and gore in Goal!

Violence is mild and almost entirely confined to the soccer pitch. Scenes include aggressive slide tackles, players being tripped or pushed, and arguments between opponents. One instance of bullying occurs when a rival player intentionally steps on and breaks Santiago's asthma inhaler. Another player is shown suffering a painful, career-ending leg injury during a game.

There are several scenes of alcohol consumption. Characters drink beer in pubs and at parties. A significant subplot involves two main players getting drunk at a nightclub, leading to negative consequences when their picture is published in a tabloid newspaper. Some background characters smoke cigarettes.

Thematic content is moderate but emotionally impactful. Key themes include the difficult relationship between Santiago and his dismissive father, who steals his savings. The sudden, off-screen death of a parent from a heart attack is a major plot point and is dealt with emotionally.
