Sex and nudity in One of Us Is Lying

Mild. Teen relationships are depicted with physical affection — kissing, implied intimacy — but nothing explicit. Cooper's coming out and his relationship with Kris is handled warmly. Addy's relationship with Jake is shown in the context of a controlling dynamic that she eventually recognizes and leaves. The show treats teen sexuality as present and normal without being gratuitous.

Violence and gore in One of Us Is Lying

Moderate and central to the premise. Simon's death by allergic reaction is the inciting event — depicted with genuine tension. The copycat's escalating threats include physical danger in multiple Season 1 episodes. Season 2's Truth or Dare game produces more sustained physical threat, culminating in a violent confrontation in the finale. Violence is thriller-adjacent rather than graphic throughout.

Language in One of Us Is Lying

Mild to moderate. The show aired on Peacock with somewhat looser standards than broadcast TV — occasional stronger language appears but nothing sustained. Moderate by streaming standards. Not a primary content concern across either season.

Mature themes in One of Us Is Lying

Well-handled across both seasons. Nate's drug dealing as a survival mechanism given his home situation is depicted with genuine empathy. Cooper's closeted gay identity and steroid use as a response to athletic expectations is one of the show's most thoughtfully constructed character arcs — his coming out and his father's reaction are handled with care. Addy's emotionally abusive relationship with Jake and her gradual recognition of its dynamics is Season 1's highlight from a mature-themes perspective…
