Around the World with Willy Fog (1983) Parents Guide: Is the series OK for kids?

Sexual content is absent from this season. There are no instances of nudity, sexual situations, or suggestive dialogue. The romantic development between Willy Fog and Princess Romy is innocent and chaste.

Animated violence is frequent but non-graphic. Characters are often in peril, facing chase scenes, falls, attempted kidnappings, and confrontations with villains and natural dangers. Weapons like swords, guns, and spears are depicted, but their use results in comic-style bumps or escapes rather than injury. A notable scene involves Princess Romy nearly being burned on a pyre, though she is rescued.

The language in the series is consistently mild and appropriate for younger viewers. There are no instances of strong profanity or offensive terms. Dialogue focuses on adventure and plot progression.

Mild substance use is present. Characters are occasionally seen smoking pipes or cigars, and glasses of wine or other alcoholic beverages appear in background scenes, typically in formal settings like the Reform Club. There is no explicit intoxication or focus on drug use.

The primary theme is adventure and the challenge of undertaking a global journey, driven by a wager. Other themes include peril and danger, depicted through the continuous sabotage attempts by Transfer and various natural disasters. Cultural differences are shown through the different countries visited, and there's a brief theme of potential prearranged marriage and ritual sacrifice involving Princess Romy before her rescue.
