Violence and gore in Yo-kai Watch: The Movie

Violence is frequent but highly stylized and cartoonish. It consists entirely of Yo-kai battling each other with special moves, kicks, and energy blasts. There is no blood, gore, or lasting injury shown. The framing is consistent with the TV series, resembling a Pokémon battle where characters are knocked out but never seriously harmed; due to the stylized, non-realistic nature of the combat, it is considered mild.

No profanity or coarse language is used.

No substance use is depicted in the film.

Mature themes in Yo-kai Watch: The Movie

The primary themes involve the power of friendship, teamwork, and bridging divides between different groups (humans and Yo-kai). There are moments of mild peril where characters are in danger or a villain's plan seems to be succeeding, but these are always resolved positively. The concept of a villain actively trying to destroy friendships could be mildly upsetting for younger children.
