- 0:05 🔥 Mature Themes 4/10
- 0:10 ♥ Sex & Nudity 2/10
- 0:16 ⚔ Violence & Gore 5/10
Sex and nudity in The Misfits
Light and brief. IMDb notes primarily implied/partial nudity: a scene showing a woman sleeping with her bare back and legs, background shots of women in bikinis and a shower briefly seen with a bikini on, and a man in shorts tied up (played for laughs). No explicit sex or frontal nudity.
Violence and gore in The Misfits
Moderate, non-graphic action and criminal violence. The movie contains fistfights, hand-to-hand combat (Violet defeats several guards), gunshots and at least one on-screen killing (Jason Quick is killed by Abu Hirawa in a revenge scene), plus explosions used as heist diversions; blood is minimal or not shown. IMDb parents notes describe the violence as mild but there are real threats, armed guards and a prison lockdown that create sustained danger.
Language in The Misfits
Occasional stronger language mixed with milder swears. IMDb records a single use of the stronger expletive ('fucking') plus scattered words like 'shit', 'ass', 'bitch' and 'cock' — most swearing is quiet or subtitled. Expect one clearly audible f-word in a tense exchange and other milder profanity elsewhere.
Drugs, alcohol, and smoking in The Misfits
Moderate. Characters drink alcohol in social and celebratory scenes, and there's a plot element where prisoners' food is deliberately tainted causing vomiting and diarrhea (used as part of the heist). IMDb also cites brief drug use references; no extended drug-dealing or overdose scenes are shown.
Mature themes in The Misfits
Strong criminal and moral themes: prison escape, organized crime, terrorism/terror financing, betrayal and extrajudicial 'justice'. The plot revolves around stolen laundered funds converted to gold, threats from a Brotherhood leader (Abu Hirawa) and a kill order by Schultz, so the film explores real-world violent consequences and moral compromise.
