Sex and nudity in The Flintstones

Content is mild and consists of innuendo. The villain's secretary, Sharon Stone (Halle Berry), is portrayed as overtly seductive in her mannerisms and dialogue to manipulate Fred. Wilma and Betty wear some low-cut dresses to a formal event. There are also brief mentions of walking around in underwear and a joke about how dinosaurs might become pregnant.

Violence and gore in The Flintstones

Violence is frequent but almost exclusively cartoonish slapstick with comical sound effects. Characters are bonked on the head, Bamm-Bamm hits people and objects with his club without causing injury, and a man is encased in concrete in a non-graphic manner. However, two scenes are more intense: an angry mob attempts to hang Fred and Barney (who are saved at the last moment), and the children are kidnapped and placed in peril on a rock-crushing machine.

Language in The Flintstones

Language is very mild. There is a single use of "damn" and some prehistoric-themed exclamations, such as "son of a brachiosaurus."

Drugs, alcohol, and smoking in The Flintstones

Social drinking is depicted. Fred and his friends drink from a large stone mug at a Water Buffaloes meeting, and Fred appears intoxicated afterward. Characters drink wine at a restaurant. Wilma's mother is often portrayed as being tipsy. One scene shows a character smoking.

Mature themes in The Flintstones

The film explores themes of greed, friendship, and corporate corruption. Fred becomes arrogant and selfish after his promotion, betraying his best friend and alienating his family. The villains' plot revolves around embezzlement. More intense themes include the adoption of a 'wild' child (Bamm-Bamm), the kidnapping of children for ransom, and mob justice.
