Sex and nudity in Let It Snow

This category is moderate. While there is no nudity or sexual activity, the film revolves around teen romance and features several kissing scenes between different couples. One romantic subplot involves two female characters, Dorrie and Kerry; they share two passionate kisses, one in private and one in public. Other heterosexual couples also kiss, but none of the scenes are prolonged or explicit. Violence and gore in Let It Snow

Violence is nearly absent. Characters get into a minor, non-injurious car accident when their vehicle slides into a snow-filled ditch. In another scene, Tobin and his friend get into a brief, comical physical scuffle over a tinfoil-wrapped pig. Some characters go sledding down a steep hill, which involves some mild comic peril. There are no fights, weapons, or graphic injuries.

Language in Let It Snow

Language is infrequent but includes some strong profanity that is the primary reason for the PG-13 rating. There is one use of 'fuck' and cruder terms like 'pussy' and 'dick'. Milder profanity is also used, including 'shit', 'bitch', 'ass', and 'goddamn'.

Drugs, alcohol, and smoking in Let It Snow

There are scenes of underage drinking. Teenagers plan and eventually throw a large party where they drink beer from a stolen keg and are also shown drinking hard liquor. Multiple main characters are briefly seen drinking beer during the party scenes, both at a house and later at the Waffle Town diner.

Mature themes in Let It Snow

The film contains some moderately heavy themes. A central plot point is that Julie's mother has a serious, life-threatening illness (implied to be cancer), which causes Julie significant emotional distress and complicates her life choices. A major subplot follows Dorrie, who is in a closeted relationship with Kerry, exploring themes of LGBTQ+ identity and the anxiety of coming out to friends and peers. Other themes include the loneliness of fame and navigating complicated friendships.
