Sex and nudity in Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey

This category is mild. There is some kissing between couples. In one scene, the evil robot versions of Bill and Ted corner their fiancées and aggressively tell them to "put out or else," but they are quickly stopped. There is a line of dialogue mentioning a "full-on robot chubby" and a brief shot of someone looking down a woman's blouse. A key alien character, Station, is a large, naked creature, but this is played for comedy and is not sexualized.

Violence and gore in Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey

Violence is frequent but highly stylized and played for laughs, with no blood or gore. The film opens with Bill and Ted being murdered by their robot duplicates, who throw them off a cliff; their lifeless bodies are briefly seen. Later, the evil robots decapitate each other and play with their dismembered heads, revealing machinery. One scene features two friendly aliens merging in a swirl of pink, intestine-like goo. A battle at the end involves robot-on-robot fighting.

Language in Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey

The language is moderate for a PG-rated film and includes some dated slurs that may be concerning to parents. There are uses of "dick," "shithead," and "pussweeds." Most notably, the anti-gay slur "fag" is used twice in a demeaning context during a nightmare sequence. Other milder terms like "hell" and "damn" are also present.

Drugs, alcohol, and smoking in Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey

Substance use is almost entirely absent. In a single, brief moment, the Grim Reaper appears before a man who is smoking a cigarette and says, "See you real soon," implying the future health consequences of smoking. No other alcohol, drugs, or smoking are depicted.

Mature themes in Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey

Thematic content is strong for a PG film. The entire plot revolves around dying, death, and the afterlife. Bill and Ted are killed early on and their souls navigate a surreal afterlife, including a visit to a comically bureaucratic Heaven and a frightening version of Hell tailored to their personal fears. They interact directly with the Grim Reaper and Satan. These mature concepts are handled with humor but are central to the story.
