The Beauty Inside (2018) Parents Guide: Is the series OK for kids?

Mild sexual content includes passionate kissing between consenting adults, hugging, and implied intimacy (characters waking up in the same bed, fully clothed). There is some suggestive dialogue and flirtation, but no nudity or explicit sexual acts are depicted.

Brief, mild violence includes a short, non-graphic schoolyard scuffle between teenage boys where no one is seriously injured. There are some instances of characters being pushed or manhandled in arguments. No blood or gore is shown.

Mild to moderate language is present, including words like "damn," "hell," and "bitch" used infrequently in moments of frustration or anger. Some instances of verbal sparring and insults occur between characters, particularly between rivals.

Occasional social drinking of alcohol by adults is shown, typically at dinners or business events. Characters are sometimes shown with wine glasses or bottles of soju. There are no depictions of intoxication or abuse. Smoking is absent.

The series explores significant themes of identity, self-acceptance, chronic illness (prosopagnosia and the monthly transformation), societal prejudice, and the pressures of celebrity life. Grief and loss are depicted after a character's death, and there are discussions around terminal illness. The story also touches on family dynamics and the challenges of maintaining a relationship under extraordinary circumstances.
