Fly Me to the Moon is officially rated PG-13. Bontent's independent parent guide recommends it for ages 13+.

Fly Me to the Moon is a 1960s-set romantic comedy centering on the high-stakes Space Race as marketing executive Kelly Jones tries to fix NASA’s public image. Conflict arises between Kelly and launch director Cole Davis when she is tasked with secretly filming a backup moon landing in case the Apollo 11 mission fails…

There is no explicit sexual content or nudity. The character Kelly wears fitted, professional 1960s-era clothing throughout the film, and there is fleeting romantic chemistry between her and Cole.

There is no physical violence or gore. The film is a dialogue-heavy romantic comedy and maintains a non-violent tone.

Language is moderate and consistent with a PG-13 rating. There is one use of 'fuck,' along with multiple instances of 'shit,' 'hell,' 'bitch,' 'ass,' and occasional blasphemous exclamations.

Smoking is a recurring visual element, reflecting the 1960s setting and office culture of the era. Characters are frequently seen with cigarettes, though the leads themselves notably refrain from smoking.

The narrative centers on institutional deception, government cover-ups, and the moral weight of lying for the greater good. These themes are handled with a light, dramatic touch rather than being dark or overly somber.

Fly Me to the Moon runs 132 minutes, directed by Greg Berlanti, released in 2024.
